“Up until this time, hard rock formations with compressive strengths ranging from 15,000 – 35,000 psi, have deterred buried ocean intakes and reject water disposal systems, forcing design engineers and contractors to place the intake screen or casing on the ocean floor.” said Gary Winrow, President. “By embedding the well screen or casing in the rock, the collection system is installed below the sediment/water interface and beyond the shore break, providing a constant source of water supply unaffected by tidal conditions and immune from most tidal or storm surges.” “This eliminates the need to replace ocean intake screens.”
